Books That Make You Stand at the Intersection of Technology and Society
Mark J. Rose is a scientist who believes in both evolution and God, as well as an author who sends readers back in time with his historical science fiction series Matt Miller in the Colonies. Hand in hand with his writing is his adventurous spirit, which has taken him to many of the places he writes about and studies.
To Mark, travel enriches his writing. Sure, you can Google a place, but being there gives off a “vibration” not duplicated in the virtual world. For The Virginian, he went to London and toured Ben Franklin’s house — not a big tourist destination there. While writing the latest Matt Miller book, Architect, he secured a private tour of the Capital building in Colonial Williamsburg.
Mark has a doctorate in pharmaceutical chemistry, and is a director of research and development at a startup biotech company.
