LA Times Festival of Books - With Books That Make You
The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is a huge annual event which draws booklovers, industry professionals, and an array of people from around the world. They claim to be the “largest book festival in the northern hemisphere” with over 150,000 booklovers in attendance.

We have limited space for in-booth signings so please register as soon as possible.

This opportunity includes:
- Inclusion in digital marketing and promotional activities on Books That Make You & Black Chateau social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter X, and Tik Tok with over 50,000 combined followers)
- Inclusion in press release distroed to 3000+ media contacts by email and on wire service at “corporate” level for worldwide online coverage (Ex: typically placed on AP News with potential reach of 35 million unique monthly visitors)
- Onsite book displayed and sold for you during the event
- Book sales conducted through consignment (funds distributed after the event—authors typically average 4 to 6 sales—the event is more for exposure and having an enjoyable experience. To make it more fun for you and less hassle acquiring your sellers permit, we handle all sales)
- Photos taken during the event posted on social media and shared with all participants after the event
- Video and social media posts of highlights featured on Books That Make You social media after the event
- Invitation to do a complimentary two hour in-booth book signing on either Saturday or Sunday (Space for signings is limited, please request at least 2 times. Filled on first-come, first served basis.)
We also submit our authors’ in-booth signing list to the LA Times Festival of Books for inclusion in their published list of author signings.
We hope you can be there in person, but if not, no worries, we can display and promote your book in the booth without you attending.

LA Times Festival of Books is
April 20 & 21, 2024
Signing times are in two-hour blocks:
Saturday: 11am to 1pm | 1pm to 3pm | 3 pm to 5 pm
Sunday: 11am to 1pm | 1pm to 3pm | 3 pm to 5 pm
Once you check out our team will follow up with you to schedule your time slot.
Note, time slots are assigned by first come first served.
Books:
Due to space limitations each author is allowed one title. If you have more than one title you’d like to include, there may be additional costs.
Books need to be shipped to Los Angeles in advance of the event and need to be received by April 15 unless you are bringing them. We recommend shipping / bringing 10 – 20 books.
Note, any extra books may be taken with you at the end of your signing, or you may pick them up at the end of the last day, or you can have us ship them back to you (Shipping charges are deducted from sales payouts).
Book Price:
We will need your book price, quantity of inventory you are bringing, and cover image by April 15 so we can add your title to our POS system before the event. Books need to be priced at a whole dollar amount as we do not have coins on hand. EX: $14 not $13.99
Sales:
Books are sold on a consignment basis, with a 15/85 split (Books That Make You / Black Chateau receives the 15% to cover fees). All sales are processed by Books That Make You / Black Chateau using our sales permit. Then paid out via Zelle, PayPal, or Check to you.
