Dive into the 1920s: A Journey Through “Whiskey and Old Stogies” by Author Lisa Angle

Books That Make You Fall Under the Spell of a Gun-Toting, Prohibition-era Moonshiner

Let’s travel back to the 1920s with a troubled boy named Rufus. He leaves his family—and a secret—behind him, only to find what he hopes is a new home with the O’Haras. But, sadly for him, things don’t go too well in this twisty historical literary fiction novel Whiskey and Old Stogies, a story filled with loss, love and the ongoing endurance of the human spirit.

Author Lisa Angle spent the 1990s writing feature articles and press releases. In the new millennium, her love of the outdoors drew her to volunteer in the Channel Islands Naturalist Corps.

She produced the documentary Ablitt House Journey, and co-produced Thirty Years of Literary Excellence, about the history of the Santa Barbara Writers Conference.
