Book Review: Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles, and Lots and Lots of Noodles by Steven Joseph

‘Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles, and Lots and Lots of Noodles’ is an upcoming children’s book by international author Steven Joseph for a May 2022 release. The children’s book entails no limit to imagination, and even the crankiest person can find happiness! People of all ages will surely enjoy this book.

Set in a near-futuristic world, ‘Snoodles, Kidoodles, Poodles, and Lots and Lots of Noodles’ follows the story of Herbie Snoodleman, the inventor of the SnoodleMobile, which is a vehicle that can be powered by noodles. SnoodleMobile became a success and popular not only for its efficiency in serving ready-to-eat noodles after use but also for its aroma that radiates happiness for everyone. Despite its success, one person is not happy with the attention SnoodleMobile gets: Sour Croodleman, the inventor of the once-popular but now forgotten KrautMobile—a vehicle powered by stinky smelled sauerkrauts. Sour Croodleman decides to seek revenge on his rival. What will happen next? In a world where even cars run on noodles, everything is possible!

This children’s book is just a short read that can be finished in one sitting. Despite its length, the storyline is engrossing, and every page has something to tell. The whole concept about cars fueled by noodles is hilarious and fascinating when you think of it. That would be such a great invention that not only makes people’s lives efficient but is also very nature friendly. Aside from that, I also like how the characters could resolve the conflict in the end. The way it all comes to place is just brilliant and funny—it made me said ‘Who would’ve thought that?!’

Andy Case, a freelance illustrator and cartoonist from Nottingham, UK, did the fantastic illustrations. The illustrations are colorful and have that cartoonish feel to them. It fits nicely on the feel-good and fun vibe of the whole story.

One thing I also like about this book is the overall message it suggests. Each of us can contribute to society, and if we think out of the box, our invention may even change the whole world. That’s why it’s essential to believe in your own abilities and never be afraid to move the world, especially if it’s for the better of everyone. The story also tells us that we shouldn’t be envious of others’ success. Instead of wasting your time minding other people’s business, focus on yourself more.  Just don’t be too hard on yourself in the process. Change the world in your own way without causing harm to others. Your time to shine will also come.

Overall, I really had fun reading this short children’s tale by Steven Joseph. It has an exciting plot that people of all ages will enjoy reading. If you’re looking for a quick, funny read that is also inspirational, then this book is for you! Treat yourself and grab a copy of this book as a gift to your kid when it releases this May, pre-order your copy now.
