#19 Books That Make You Weather the Storm – Raj Naiksatam

We all love tales of courage and triumph. Our favorites are the ones where our heroes weather the Storm and come out of a situation transformed. That is exactly what happened to our guest, who is with us today. It’s a book that makes you weather the Storm.

Rajesh Naiksatam was born and raised in Mumbai, India. At age ten, while on the school playground, Rajesh was hit by a powerfully thrown but misguided javelin. Luckily, the javelin wobbled at the very last moment and lost its momentum, fortunately leaving Rajesh with nothing more than a half-inch-deep hip wound.

Rajesh came to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in computer graphics at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where one of his teachers was Chris Wedge, the director of the movie Ice Age.

He is also the author of the book The Cloudburst: “The will to survive is a force that never discriminates.”A book about a group of kids who get trapped by a monsoon and must overcome their fears and work together or else face certain death.

His story is remarkable, and the writing is powerful. Enjoy Desiree’s interview with Rajesh Naiksatam.
